Fav. Family Foto Friday

I have been trying to decide which way to go this week so this is what I decided on. If you have read past posts you know that I lost my mom back in Nov. of 2005, I have tried not to talk abt. it too much on here because I get upset which in turn depresses you. It is slowly getting easier to talk of and these pics are some of my favorites. The top one is of course me with my mom and it must have been Easter, maybe 1973 or 74? I need to have the pic worked on to stop the fading but hope that you can see it. They say she used to come in the front door and I would start flapping them fat arms and legs and then they would make her go back out and come thru the back door, only to find me doing it again. Everytime she would enter, I would flap! I think if she entered today, you'd find me flappin. The second picture was taken Oct. of 2005 just a few days before she entered into the hospital for knee replacement surgery, this is the last picture taken of her. On the left is my nephew, Luke, he was turning 1 on this day and the other child is my youngest at 1 1/2. I don't think they flapped like I used to but they sure did love their Mamaw and would get so excited to see her. As you can see, my child is jealous and I think had just gotten in trouble for pinching Luke.
If your moms are still here, make sure you call her right now and tell her how much you love her and appreciate her, I failed to stress that before and have prayed that God lets her here me now!
Don't forget to go check out all the other girl's pics at Deborah's!

What a great tribute to your mom - and should make anyone appreciate their own mothers even more! I cherish every moment I get to spend with my mom - she is 86 now. Dad is gone now - 4 years ago - and we keep his memory alive in the little quips and quotes he used to say, and little tricks we play on each other now and then. They are a special part of our lives!

Angela, I think your mom knows how much you cared for her. You were/are her little flapper! And it is okay to talk about things on our blogs that make us sad - it can be very therapeutic. :o)

Hi Angela, I love the photos you shared today. Your mom was so pretty. My mom has been gone for some time and I still miss her so much. I don't think we ever stop missing our mom's. You can see by her beautiful smile she loved her grandchildren. I agree, we need to tell our loved ones and most of our moms how much they are loved. I am sure our moms knew we loved them Angela.

I call my mama as much as I can. She is in SC and I am in TX, that makes me sad but she knows that I love her and your mama did too. She looks like she was fun.

What a great looking Mom you had! You can see the love she had for her family on her face! You are a mom...you know that your kids adore you...even when they don't tell you! She knew. She absolutely knew!

Moonlight Hollow is having a Treasure Hunt. We would love to have you participate. Just go to the blog and read Monday's post for directions!

Aw sweetie...I know how hard it is to talk about our moms. I lost mine 15 months ago and I've only talked about her once on my blog and I think I cried all that day.

I've seen my baby grandson 'flap' when his mommy enters the room...that's LOVE!

I'm back from visiting our daughter and our two grandsons and I'm trying to get back to my normal routine.

Thank you so much for posting about your lovely mother.

XOXOXO,
Deborah

So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2000, my brother in 2002, and my dad in 2006, so I completely understand your feelings. Just be so grateful for the time you did have with her! Your mom was beautiful.
