The Lord has been so GOOD to me! Some of you know what has been going on with my family and I have really been praying abt. whether to share it on my blog so that it may help others going thru the same type of things but for now I just want to say that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!

I delivered some of these crosses to Christine Mills a few weeks ago in Madison Ga. She has a booth in the Madison Markets and I just had to show you a few pics from around the shop. This entire place is gorgeous and I really couldn't decide what to take pics of so you just have to make a special trip there yourself!

I want both of these so bad!!! I love this..........

Obviously my pics are a little backwards since this is the entrance but I got frustrated with Blogger trying to load these in some sort of order, ugh...

I think my next post will be a little more personal and abt. some of what I have been going thru because I really believe God allows us to go thru trials so that we can be an encouragement for someone else.

Can you tell I am SO ready for Spring? This weekend was absolutely beautiful and today's forecast is clear skies and 72*. The year my hubby and I started dating (1993) we had a major snowstorm(well major for Central Ga.) on March 12th and here we are with 72*, who knows maybe it will snow again at the end of the week.

I found this tintype via flickr(mrwaterslide) and thought it fit perfectly with the Toby Keith song I had playing. Can't you just see this man having to listen to his wife "yap" 24 hrs. a day and never getting a word in! Ha. My hubby doesn't like Country music but always manages to grin when he hears this song, wonder why?

Or maybe it fits in better with song #9 on my playlist. hahaha. That song is so not what I would usually play on here but I was looking for a love song by Vince Gill and when I played this one I just had to laugh. I guess Jo Packham's letter in the front of the Where Women Create Spring 2010 just got me to thinking abt. "men" and what they think abt. us women some times.

Starting Over

About 2 years ago I was searching for something on the internet and stumbled across Kim's blog, DaisyCottage. From there I hopped and skipped all over the world, blog to blog, in awe of this "new world" that I had found. I foolishly thought that it would be so simple to start blogging myself but all the while wondering if anyone would really give a flip abt. my life. It has been a struggle ever since to keep up with my life, remembering to take pics and then to recount it all on here. I never have found a groove for this "blog" thing and have thought many times of just giving up and quitting but I have met several of you in person and feel like I have made a connection with some of you that blogging only strengthens. My biggest struggle is whether to treat this blog as my online diary and share things with all of you that are real and true in my life or do I only share only a fake, perfect, happy world, or do I just share art and crafts? For the few of you that have gotten to know me in whatever small way, y'all know that I am an open, sharing TOO much info kind of girl. Much to my hubby's horror, it's just the way I am! It has been very hard trying to share with y'all while not really sharing at all. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I am saying all of this to tell you that my blog is going to change. I am starting over as of today! My favorite blog is Tongue in Cheek because Corey shares so much of her life with us. I have laughed and cried while reading her words and even tho' I have never met her, I consider her a friend. She emails me privately after I leave a comment and will even answer one of my emails. That is what I want my blog to be like, not that I will ever compare to her but I do want it to be an honest picture of me and my world, the good-bad-ugly and just way too much info.

Don't worry tho' I won't start sharing on this post, I think you have had to read enough already. I do want to thank those of you that have called or emailed to check on me and thank you to Sherri for really letting me unload on her!!

The Old Rugged Cross

Whew...Mistletoe Market was insane! I sold over 50 wreaths on Friday and was completely sold out just after lunch! I stayed up all night making more and I don't think I ever stopped all weekend, and still I have orders to fill....YAYAYAYAYAY!!! I so needed a sale like this one, I was really discouraged and so many things are going on in my home that it was just what I needed at the moment. Sorry to say I didn't take a single pic, I never had time to get my camera out of the bag. Tammy came to see me with her sweet, sweet Mama Ru and sisnlaw Judy and took a few pics. I sold all of my paper mache' dress forms and have 2 more almost ready for their debut.

One of my customers asked me if I could come up with a cross done like my wreaths and my hubby has been on me for a year to try one and this is my version or first try anyway. I'm thinking I need to thin out the middle of the arms so that it is wider at the center and the points, whadya think? Please be honest, is this a keeper or no? Please ignore the inside of the fireplace, candles are everywhere and I didn't have alot of options for 10:30pm pics.

I can't wait to here what y'all think of the cross and whether I should thin it out, something just doesn't look right. I'm hoping this customer loves the cross and maybe I can offer them in my etsy shop.

Christmas Shows

I don't know if I have any visitors left after missing an entire month here but I am frantically trying to get ready for Mistletoe Market next weekend in Perry Ga. Last year, I had a friend help out with making things and working the booth with me but this year she has decided that she cannot and I have a double booth to fill.....(can you hear me screaming Calgon?). Now you know why I haven't been here! I also had 2 swaps from Silver Bella that I stayed in even tho' I had to back out of going, one was a Bella book with Scrappy Jessi and another was a Shabby Bella ornament swap hosted by Heather of Speckled Egg. I didn't get a great shot of the ornaments but now that the recipients have gotten them(they swapped last night), I feel safe in showing you the one little pic I did take. I was really nervous abt. this one, not knowing if my ornaments would be "up to snuff" with the other girls involved, so I really hope they like them and cannot wait to see all the Silver Bella pics.

Well I'm off to "create". I would love to see some of you next weekend at that show!

I just wanted to let you all know that I will draw the winner's name at 9:30pm tonight and will post the pics of the giveaway goodies as well. You still have a few hours to enter!!!!!!!!!

For those of you that are believers, please, please be praying for 2 families in our community. Last night was our first PTO mtg of the school year and afterwards while organizing the cafeteria to be ready for this morning, I got to meet one of our new teachers, Nathan Beiswenger. Quite the good-looking man and just a really nice guy. He was one of the few that stayed to help us put chairs and tables back in order and the kids in the school loved having a man as a teacher(there are so few of them now). This morning before school, he was out jogging just a mile down the road from us and was hit by a car. He died on the scene. From what I understand, he was facing traffic and saw a car coming so he moved over into the other lane -with an Ipod in his ear- and never heard a car approaching behind him. PLEASE, PLEASE be praying for his family, his fiance, and the driver's family, who was also a local man. I cannot imagine the grief they are all feeling and I regret not having said more to him last night. I have said in the past that I know God put me here for a reason and that I feel like I am not living up to my "calling". After watching Patrick Swayze and his wife on TV last night and then hearing abt. Mr. Beiswenger this morning, it hits home even more that the MOST IMPORTANT thing for me to be doing is sharing God's love and forgiveness with everyone I meet. I do love each and every one of you even though many of us have not met, so, while you pray for them and please keep the staff and kids in our school in your prayers too, I will be praying for all of you; especially that you know the Jesus Christ as your Savior.
I have never done this before but if anyone out there needs prayer whether it is something you want to share or an unspoken, please leave it in the comments or email me...I would LOVE to pray with you or for you.

I wish I could say that I was a morning person and that I got up long before everyone else to read my Bible, exercise, tidy up the house, get dressed, cook breakfast and all that other stuff perfect women do...but I'm not. I wish I could say that I was a very detailed and organized person, but I cannot. I wanted to post some pics of random things that I had saved on my laptop that just inspire me or make me happy and now it is sad to say that I cannot tell you anything abt. any of these except that I THINK they all came from tumblr.com except the one of Billy and me at my class reunion. I am not a confident woman of anything that has to do with me other than that I love the Lord and HE especially loves me and that I have a very good looking man for a hubby, just saying!!;)

This summer was the best summer we have had since my kids started school. Most of them have been full of fighting, my boys seem to hate each other come summer time but this year was filled with homemade fun. My dad took them on a camping trip, they made a mud pit in the back yard as well as a bike track for BMX(God help me!) and we went to see family in NC. This picture above is from a trip to our local Museum of Arts and Sciences. My boys and I go there several times throughout the year but this was a first for my nephew, Luke(he's the one making faces and Yes, his shirt says, My dad can arrest your dad-we are so red around here). I am so blessed to have a wonderful family, healthy children and a loving husband and no matter what LIFE throws at us, that is the most important thing, right? I really need a pep talk today abt. how great things are for me, how much I have to be grateful for...has anyone else every needed one of those? I feel like things are falling apart and it's like trying to hold water in your hand and it all just leaks thru the cracks....
Well I am sorry to have boo-hooed on your shoulders today, I hope and pray that everyone has a wonderful day and weekend. If you are a praying person, please pray that God blesses us in a very special way today, I know he is capable if we only let him! Thanks to you all!

Oh, God just reminded me how blessed and loved I am. The child 2nd from the left, my 5 year old Brady, was lying beside me the other day and I said to him, "I love you"...he replied "I love you too" to which I added " I love you more" and usually this will go on and on until one of us says, " I love you MOST"-declaring the winner, but my wise little child responds this time, " well, I love you as much as Jesus loves you". Tell me that don't learn early! sneaky little devil, I couldn't help but laugh and of course kiss him all over!

Idle Hands......

As you can see my "hands" are all over the place! I have been trying to keep up with my booth in Gray, a custom order of wreaths, Lollishops, Etsy, Silver Bella and Mistletoe Market and well, to tell the truth it's a wonder I remember my bra most days!

I love making these cupcake pics like the top picture and had to try a table topper to match(both of these are online in my etsy shop), the wreath is just one of many stacked to the ceiling around my dining room table-I have to figure out where to put them all, the wallpaper packets are filling my vintage suitcases at the moment-all textured, many different patterns just waiting for me to make something with them but what? My favorite item that I have been working on is "Aunt Cal"-short for Calista-I wish I could make up some great story abt. her but I stink at that unless I could come up with a very embarassing moment for her and then the stories roll right out! Anyway, I have been knitting these very skinny scarves or knitted necklaces and I needed a display for them. I can't really afford to run around hunting for an antique dress form so I decided to paper mache one, she turned out so pretty I decided I would do another and another and so Aunt Cal is listed in my lollishop-shipping is added to her price.
I'm off to school to deliver cupcakes for my 5th grader, hope all of you have a wonderful Wednesday...will be back to tell you abt. a birthday and show you my En Le Jardin memory book!!

More catching up

I am trying to go thru all of my pics and share a few more things that have been going on around here, sorry for the hodge podge post! Just wanted you to know there has been some crafting going on!

So here are a couple of pictures from my 20th class reunion..the one above is me with 2 great friends, Stephanie and Eric. We had so much fun in school, usually laughing just like this and it was so good to see them both after so many years. Steph lives in Atlanta with her hubby and children and Eric and his family live in Denver. My face hurt the day after the reunion from laughing so much and so hard! The picture below is a few of us that not only graduated from high school together but also from grammer school(back then it wasn't called elementary school), I had not seen any of them since 1989 either. Fron left to right is Alicia-my very first friend after moving to Macon in 5th grade, Tina-my very oldest friend, I have known her since 1st grade-she owns a toy store at our new mall in Macon-tell her I sent you!, me and then Sarena-sorry to say we didn't talk much so I don't know anything abt. her now.

Playing Catch Up

Today is the first day of school and can you tell how excited my 3 are? HAHAHAHAH. Needless to say I am trying to catch up with posting after all the excitement of the summer.

Back in June, my dad took my 3 boys to High Falls State Park for 10 days worth of camping-this is his 2nd year of doing this and I am so blessed that he wants to do it and that the boys love it so, they are a handful for me so I know a "Paa-paw" has his hands full. Billy and I went up for the last weekend and this is what we came up on....a water gun fight amongst them all-for whatever reason I don't have a pic of Griffin-he was probably hiding!

This raccoon came up every night to see what was left over-we put this bag out just to see if we could lure him to the site for me to take pics...Brady loved finding little foot prints all over the place each morning.

While all this craziness was going on, I had my 20th class reunion but can't place my hands on the pics from it, they are all posted on Facebook so if you are already my friend on there, you have probably seen them all. Maybe I can post one of me and Billy later.

Oh "Say", Can you see?

Obviously I haven't posted in awhile and when I realized that my Memorial Day fit the post for July 4th I just left it, pretty sad, huh?
I have been frantically busy making up "goodies" to sell at Silver Bella and Mistletoe Market in Nov. Christmas is always on my mind so it has been hard to switch gears and be a good blogger.
I do want to share a funny story with you guys, or at least it was funny to us and maybe those of you with kids will see the humor as well.

Back in Nov. 2005 my mom passed away, it was the worst time of my life, no joy and with Christmas approaching it was horrible. My mother in law offered to keep the boys so that Billy and I could do our Christmas shopping so off we go to Granma's house, the boys excited that Christmas was near and me? just depressed. As we were riding along, my then 6 yr. old Griffin, says "Momma, I just thought of something (which usually meant something crazy was abt. to come from his mouth)" I said, "oh yeah, what was it", he replies "well I got a question for you....who is say?" My husband and I just look at each other like the child had finally gone crazy. We both said, "what?", he says again, "who is say?...you know oh say, can you see?"
Well you can imagine how hard we laughed and I think God sent that crazy thought thru Griffin's head just for me! As we celebrated the Independence of our country and my dad's birthday on Sat. I thought of that time and that crazy question that came from my son, it brought joy to my life and I hope all of you are filled not just with happiness but the joy that can only come from God!!

En Le Jardin Swap

I took my goodies for the girls in this basket that Tammy made us for Girls Weekend. I managed to cram 18 flower fairies inside.

These flower fairies were my gift to all the girls.

On Friday, while the girls were in Savannah I had a light bulb moment and made this toadstool fairy for our sweet hostess, Jenn.

Andrea made us these wonderful bags to hold our swap goodies and they were packed full of heavenly things that I will post individually later on.

At each of our chairs was this sweet little box filled with gifts from Jenn.

I am trying to break this art retreat into different posts so I don't have to sit here for hours, so here are the pics of the swap that we all contributed to. I will post more pics later of all the girls, some of the craziness and all of the individual goodies that I came home with. Best of all, I made some wonderful friendships. My heart is full of love for all of the girls that I have met this past month at the 2 art/friendship retreats...no goody can compare to them!

Part 2, EN LE JARDIN 09

Last Thursday, this art retreat began at Jenn Hayslip's with just a casual dinner under the tent. Her Mom had fixed us these wonderful casseroles, Jenn fixed salad and bread and I brought a dessert. Here is the recipe for Mango Salsa Sundaes, a Pampered Chef recipe.

12 (8 inch) flour tortillas

1/4 c. sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon( I used way more than this)

2 tbsp. melted butter

1 cup strawberries, hulled and finely diced

1 ripe mango, peeled and finely diced

1 kiwi, peeled and finely diced

1 lime

1/4 c. sliced almonds, coarsely chopped( I don't like nuts so I left them off) :)

1 jar(11.75 oz) strawberry ice cream topping

3 c. vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 350F. Trim tortillas to form triangles(I save the scraps for cinnamon chips to eat the leftover salsa with). Cut a 1 inch slice into each side of the triangles. Brush tortillas with melted butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix. Place tortillas into 12 cup muffin pan, pressing down to form cups(use the slits to shape into cups). Bake 18-20 or until golden crisp, cool on cooling rack. Hull and peel fruit and then finely dice, mix all together. Use a zester to zest the lime then juice the lime to measure 1 tsp. juice. Add juice and zest to fruit mix, stir gently.

Coarsely chop almonds using Food Chopper. For each sundae, spoon 2 tbsp. of strawberry topping onto white plate, top with one tortilla cup. Place 1 scoop ice cream into cup, top with salsa and almonds.

Since mangos could not be found, I used peaches in their place, it was still just as yummy. Let me know if you make these and how you like them!

I have sat here trying to figure out how to start this post for what seems like hours and not sure this is the way I want to go but I want to tell you a few things because I doubt that I am the only one that has led their life in this way and I want to share how wonderful friendships can be.

Our goody swap baskets filled to the brim with tons of goodies..my favorite being this vintage crocheted purse that Tammy and Lee kept a secret from me.

My elementary years were spent surrounded by friends, sure I had one very best friend but I also had a ton of friends in two different towns, cousins who were friends in 3 different states, softball teams full of friends. In high school I met a guy and slowly started neglecting those friendships until I was really only left with one true friend, probably like many of you. After graduation, I married that same guy and really ran off what few friends that I had either by neglecting them or by their dislike of what I was allowing this guy to do to me. Anyway, it took a little while to realize what I done with my life and "boot" the fella but at that point, there were no friends left. Fast forward a few years but I had met my future husband while working a second job to pay for all of the first one's bills and we had become fast friends, in fact the best of friends. I opened up in ways I had not done in years, telling everything I thought, felt or had done and that friendship slowly led to something more. Here I was again..best friends with my husband and only a handful of girlfriends. Once again I started withdrawing from the girls and devoting my all to my husband which I am not saying was a bad thing for me, my husband and I were completely wrapped up in each other and shared everything...absolutely the best of friends. Now after 15 years of marriage, I do have one girlfriend left from high school that I love dearly and we are very close but in the past year my life has started to change. Actually in 2005 when I lost my mom, I had this hole in my life that I have not been able to fill and while I will never be able to "fill" the hole left without my mom, I have realized how much I miss having girl friends.

Last June I met Tammy Lucik, never knowing that it would lead to forming a friendship which would then lead to meeting a group of girls that instantly hit it off. I had never realized how much I need girl friends, how much I was missing in my life and it amazes me how God has put so many wonderful ppl. in my life in the past year.

All I can tell you is.......Tammy really outdid herself, she went so above and beyond to make us feel pampered, appreciated and loved. Starting Thursday of last week we arrived at her home for a weekend of fun, art and just hanging with the girls and of course one fella every once in a while. As you can see in the pics we had so much fun and I am so thankful that I was invited to be a part of this weekend and given the chance to meet all of these wonderful girls. I cannot wait to do this again! I have so many more pics to show but will have to get permission on some of them, may have to blackmail with some as well, hee,hee!! Will post more pics and tell abt. more tomorrow.

yes, these 3 keep me extremely busy but I do love them so!!! Easter 09.

seems I am too busy and can't tell that I am getting anything done. I did manage to clean house today and will be completely honest and say I haven't truly "cleaned" since Christmas, UGH!!! Now when 3 little boys run this door at 3:30pm it will look just like it did before they went to school this morning..a PIG PEN! Since I am spending the weekend with Tammy and the girls I thought leaving a clean house for my husband was the least I could do, can't wait to see what it looks like when I return..

I have opened a booth in a local shop "Treasures by the Tracks and am so excited on how business is going. It has made me extremely busy but hey, I'm making money and that is what keeps the lights on round here. Above are some pics of some things that I have made and sold.

Off to buy a hostess & host gift for Tammy and her hubby....will post after the weekend, hope everyone has a wonderful and safe one!!

I am so excited!!!! First off I am going to be a part of a wonderful weekend spent with a great group of girls, lots of giggling, goody swapping, and art being taught by Dawn-aack...I can hardly wait!!! Go visit Tammy to see the list of all the girls attending and then come back after the first of May to see what a wonderful time we had. I am bummed that I will miss the trip to Savannah but my sweet little man, Brady, will be 5 years old that same weekend and we will be "Monkey Joeing" while the girls are totally forgetting I exist down in Savannah!

Next, will be this unbelievable weekend in May hosted by Jennifer. I am telling you I just abt. can't stand myself-can you hear me squealing? Once again, I will miss their trip to Savannah but will get to see all of their goodies on Sat. at the luncheon/art class. I will make sure to take gobs of pics to show you all!!

and last but not least.....WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! My sweet and darling, wonderful, loving, best, most generous(did I say sweet?) husband has given me the greatest Mother's Day, anniversary, birthday, Christmas gift I could have gotten this year.....Silver Bella. I am telling you I can't hardly stand myself!!

There has been so much going on in my world that I haven't blogged in a bit but have lots to show you from my booth and art I have been working on. I have sneak peeks to show you of my gifts to all the girls that will be at Tammy's next weekend but I will have to post those later today...have a wonderful day and I hope my squeals won't distract you too much!!haha

This is what the 1st of March looked like in Middle Ga. It was nuts.

Here is the 7th of March, spent at Dauset Trails in Ga, we ended up in shorts and tshirts.

We have had the craziest weather over the past 2 weeks and I thought that my favorite fotos for today would show you the drastic change that we had from March 1st(snowing) to March 7th(upper 70's). On the 7th we took off to Dauset Trails, a bit north of us, had a picnic lunch after seeing all of the animals(which I will post in the next one-don't want y'all getting confused as to who is the family!). Then off to Indian Springs and back down to High Falls. Yes, we try to cram everything we can into one outing!!

Don't forget to go visit Deborah and all the other girls posting today!! Give me just a few and I will have another post with CRAFTING!! YAY!!

I have been trying to decide which way to go this week so this is what I decided on. If you have read past posts you know that I lost my mom back in Nov. of 2005, I have tried not to talk abt. it too much on here because I get upset which in turn depresses you. It is slowly getting easier to talk of and these pics are some of my favorites. The top one is of course me with my mom and it must have been Easter, maybe 1973 or 74? I need to have the pic worked on to stop the fading but hope that you can see it. They say she used to come in the front door and I would start flapping them fat arms and legs and then they would make her go back out and come thru the back door, only to find me doing it again. Everytime she would enter, I would flap! I think if she entered today, you'd find me flappin. The second picture was taken Oct. of 2005 just a few days before she entered into the hospital for knee replacement surgery, this is the last picture taken of her. On the left is my nephew, Luke, he was turning 1 on this day and the other child is my youngest at 1 1/2. I don't think they flapped like I used to but they sure did love their Mamaw and would get so excited to see her. As you can see, my child is jealous and I think had just gotten in trouble for pinching Luke.

If your moms are still here, make sure you call her right now and tell her how much you love her and appreciate her, I failed to stress that before and have prayed that God lets her here me now!

10 Honest Things Abt. Me

1. I have a very nasty habit....I bite my fingernails, have tried everything but dipping my hands in poo to stop.

2. I have this secret(well not anymore) desire to be liked by everyone I come in contact with.

3. I'm pretty graphic and blunt with everyone, much to my husband's horror. Course if you have read past posts you already knew that.

4. I fear that I am wasting my life and have this sense of urgency to DO something...but what?

5. I AM A PACK RAT....just ask anyone that knows me.

6. I am very sentimental, just to prove #5 and #6...I have kept grocery lists that my grandmother made, scribbles that my mom made, well I better stop before you really find out how bad I am.

7. When I love someone I do it with nothing in reserve but once they reject or hurt me, I have a hard time loving them with the same abandonment. Please pray for me in that area.

8. My greatest desire in life is to see my boys grow to be Godly men.

9. I hate to go shopping for clothes, would much rather be in an antiques/flea market.

10. After 15 years of marriage I still won't walk around in my bra and undies much less NAKED(you have to say that NECKED)!!!

This is just a teaser.....a girl can dream, right?

Here we are this past Christmas Eve, can't tell it's forced, can you? Chander, on left, leaves no doubt as to his thoughts of taking a pic and not opening presents. Griffin, my little politician on the right, has been trained to grin and bear it and well with Brady as you will see next, we never know what we are going to get.

My Aunt in NC, sent these glasses to each of the boys a few years ago, she thought they might enjoy them!?! She had no idea that Brady would immediately put them on, jam both fingers up his nose and start singing, "Feliz Navidad". We have no idea and wonder exactly what was in the epidural during delivery of this one!

The colors here turned out so pretty...as you can tell this was Easter and once again a forced shot.....all Brady was thinking abt. was the candy in the basket that he got from Granny.

Last but not least is my brother, his fiance and their son, Luke(yes they started out backwards). This was Luke's 4th bday party at the park and I had to force him to get in this shot. I know some of you are thinking how can we be related, Wayne is 6'3", slender/muscular and well I am lucky to reach 5'5" on a good day and dumpy would best describe me.....all I can say is.... he's losing his hair already, hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

I wanted to post some more pics of this Dover Family of mine so that next week I can post abt. the other side. This pic is of my grandad, "Ted" Dover and my grandma Cleo. They had just gotten married, his second and her third(explains there being no white worn) and had gone to the park. I love the pics I have from this day because they seem so happy, carefree and sort of like teenagers in their poses. Here they are lying on a park bench, one of those narrow concrete benches, like a couple of 15 yr. olds! I just love it.

A few posts back I showed an antique store and told you the story abt. it being a Cotton Mill several years back...well here are the houses that surrounded it. My grandparents in the above pic both worked at the mill and this is my dad probably around 1948/49. Yes, I know I got my figure from him!

Just to clear up the redneck story from the last few posts, here is my great grandad, Sidney on the far right with my great grandmom, Cora in front of him. I just wanted you to know that he did get dressed up at times and didn't want you all to see the chicken killin image when you heard me talk of him. My grandad and grandma are next to them, grandad's sister Eunice and her husband "Red", and then my grandad's brother Grady and Nellie on the left end. I think this was a family reunion of sorts back in the 50's. I have so many memories of this family but sadly no one is left except my uncle Grady's second wife. Most of the children of this generation is here but they just don't care abt. getting together like I do, probably cause I am just so nosy and want to hear all of the stories and see all of the pics.

I have a lot more pics to post later today of something I made for a Lollishop ad and of all the sweet deals I got yesterday at the Friends of the Library Book Sale. For those that don't return, have a wonderful weekend!!

So..last week I told you all about killin the chickens and my great grandad sitting there watching...well here he is on just such a day. This is Andrew Isaac Sidney Jackson Dover(don't ask.,I don't know why) in the chair(my great grandad) and his son, my grandad, Harvey Everett Dover, Sr. sittin on the paint can...told you we're rednecks!!! This must have been break time or my dad was doing the choppin at the moment.

Family Foto Friday...a little late

My kids are out of school today and I completely forgot to post my pic first thing this morn....so here it is...better late than never.

In keeping with the Dover side of my family, this picture is the only known one of all of the boy children of the couple from last week. I probably won't have this right because I cannot tell which son in the back row is oldest but I think on the back left is Daniel Fletcher Dover, back right is Bob Dover, then on the front row from left to right is Auz, Sidney and Bail Dover(short for Bailey). Sidney is my g grandfather who passed away when I was 6 years old. I do have one memory of him, though it may freak some of you out....

Sidney went to live with my grandparents when my ggrandma died and I loved going to their house because it was out in the woods and I was allowed to do most anything. We rednecks would make a big to do over killing the chickens and everyone would show up. I can remember my grandad cutting down a small tree and letting it fall, then taking a chicken one by one and cutting it's head off over that fallen tree. Well if you are a country girl you know that the chicken doesn't just drop dead, it runs around headless for a bit and if you are a fellow "redneck" you would know that you just had to chase them. I remember draggin my denim pocketbook behind me while chasing the headless chickens thru the trees until they dropped and then it was on to another one. I think my grandad timed them so when one would fall I would have another to holler after while my Great Grandad(Sidney) would sit in his chair and laugh.

Told you it might freak you out a bit!.......

I would love to hear if anyone else had similar childhoods so please leave a comment abt. things from long ago that might freak us out(please use some discretion-know what I mean?)

My middle child turns 8 today so I am off to get him a guitar and take him to lessons, hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and weekend!!!

I don't know what happened with a few of the pics and the color but this is the best I could do with them and I really wanted to show this beautiful picture of Christ.

Sorry, I didn't want the pics to get all mixed up with the post before but I do want to show everyone some of what Tammy and I saw last week. First we met up at Starbuck's-my very first trip there..ever. I am not a coffee drinker so was in a panic abt. what to get and looking like a fool but I got their Signature Hot Chocolate and Tammy took care of me by getting me a "sleeve" for my cup. I am such an idiot, I didn't even know they made those. Anyway, if you are into different kinds of chocolate, definitely try that one sometime but if you are just plain ole boring, like ME, then go for the Plain Ole Boring Hot Chocolate!

We then went to Payne City Antiques....YAYAYAYAY!! For those of you not familiar with Macon or Ga. for that matter, Payne City is within Bibb County, right smack in the middle of the City of Macon.The Cotton Mill was located there and years ago those that worked at any mill formed their own little communities surrounding the Mill, this one just happened to make itself a city within a city(not sure if it is incorporated-but think it is). My grandparents both worked at this particular Mill and lived within Payne City. My dad grew up there and I will have to pull out pics for you all to see what it used to look like, for now this is what we have, as well as a Farmers Market/Restaurant, several shops that have been built in a new strip mall on the same property and all the old houses lined up side by side.

For whatever reason I had my camera but was to busy yacking with Tammy to take pics until the very end and only got one of her while she has her back to me(sorry Tammy!).

Well this week I decided I would stay in the same side of the family as last weeks post. This pic is of David Harvey Dover and his wife Louisa Eliza Manus(my gg-grandparents). David is the son of the couple in last week's pic. The large nose definitely got passed down to this generation as you can see in the pics. I have been working off and on with my genealogy since 1995 and if nothing else I can spot a Dover in a picture. They all seem to have high cheekbones and large noses. There isn't much I can tell abt. this couple, other than Eliza had an Indian heritage(just not sure where yet). When I found this pic it was hidden behind another picture of me as a child in a frame that my grandmother had. They were stuck together and it nearly made it to the trash pile, my nosiness comes in handy sometimes!!

Hi everyone! I don't have but just a sec to post and tomorrow I am off to meet up with Tammy for Starbucks and Antique shopping(YAY!!) so I wanted to get ahead of the game for tomorrow. I have recently signed up to participate in http://www.picturespotspens.blogspot.com/ 's Family Foto Friday so here is my first one. This is my great,great,great grandparents on my dad's paternal side. I have been told my 3rd great grandfather, Augustus Dover, was a Doctor(I am sure a self made one), a Godly man, and that even though he lived in North Georgia and was Southern to the core, he refused to fight in the Civil War. He didn't want to see the killing when he was called to heal and save people so when he deserted and the Rebel army came to get him, he hid under the front porch steps and was never caught! I am sure had my grandmother's side of the family ever heard this abt. her husband's g.grandfather there would have been another war but even as Southern as I am it makes me proud to know that he stood or hid for his convictions and knew that God needed him to save lives.

I will try to post again tomorrow to show any goodies that I find or at least to catch up from the last few hunting expeditions! Have a great night everyone.

I have been MIA due to working on my Lollishop. Dale at Sea Dream Studio is working on a banner for me while I craft away on products to sell but I just had to post a poem that I found in an 1800's book of poetry that I have.

all my thugs on Halloween, my husband says I never put pics of him on here!

I promised myself that I would be a better blogger and as you can tell that has been a failed promise. I have been so blessed with sales of my wreaths this year that I barely have time to come up for air. This past Saturday night I had a booth at Hometown Christmas in Gray, Ga. and had wonderful success with wreath sales, only brought back 3 large ones and had an order for 9 on Sunday, YAYAYAY!!!!!

If anyone is interested in one, please leave a comment and I will try to figure out how to ship to you- the prices are $6 for small(5inch center opening), $8 for medium(7inch opening) and $10 for large(9inch opening-abt. 30 inches from point to point). I will list them in my lollishop in the next couple of days.

I have so many pics to post and no time to do it, but I did copy the top one off of Tammi's blog, you should definitely go visit her and her shop.

Portable Studio Challenge

My husband would be overjoyed if all of my crafting/hobbies would fit into these two but some say marriage is a buzzkill so he will receive no joy today! We are off to visit a land where no one has an art studio and clutter is considered Godliness...want to join us? My first stop, after the potty break of course, was to the local mines to dig up some treasure then we were off with our caravan to find this magical world of art.

I never know what I might want to work on and if you ask my husband my greatest passion is to spread it from one end to the other and stare it all day so I packed a little of everything. I needed my flowers just to lighten my spirit for the trip and of course I brought along an atlas or two just in case I get lost.

My sheet music is a must and who knows the radio might stop and I may have to serenade myself on this adventure. Velvet ribbon and lots of lace can be used in just abt. any art as well as flocked wallpaper(which my hubbie says stinks to high heaven-he just doesn't appreciate the smell that comes with age). I packed a few dresses, you know how women are-we never know what we might want to wear, lots of buttons, a few stamps just in case and gobs of keys. Somewhere in all of that is a key to break free from jail, just in case the popo think of stopping this unlicensed, unregistered carvan high on glitter!!!!

I hope you all will visit me in my land of artful clutter as well as all of the girls headed off with their portable studios-you can find them by going to see Phyllis at Shabby in the City! I should have found a pic of Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies waving goodbye but just imagine that is what I am doing right now!!!

I hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween! We went to our church Fall Festival Friday night and the boys had a blast, along with the other 1000 people there. It was total chaos but a wonderful night and some of the cutest costumes around.
Our youth came over on Saturday night for a bonfire/social which was a lot of fun but I didn't take one picture. I was so busy running back and forth making sure everyone had what they needed and running my mouth that I forgot abt. the camera until everyone had left and saw it sitting on the kitchen counter, charged and ready to be used. Ugh, that is the way my mind works!

For those of you that are in the South or even those that like to travel to Christmas Market/Craft Show Events, you must come to Perry Ga. the weekend of Nov. 21-23rd for Mistletoe Market. There are so many different types of vendors and Santa makes a grand appearance for pictures on Sunday!! I finally got Photoshop and cannot do a thing with it! I worked for several days off and on to complete this side bar ad for Lollishops and still not sure if it looks good enough. Graphic artist I ain't!!! There's just no better word for it, AIN'T!!!! If someone out there can tell me how to make this better, please let me know!

The pic is of an angelic music box I have been making and well, I am so glad to be done with the first of many. I have to get busy because Mistletoe Market is just around the corner and I have lots of doll heads lying around. Tags and greeting cards are everywhere as well as antique books torn to pieces and just patiently waiting to be put together as journals. Might lose what little mind I have left in the process but I love to have a deadline and be under pressure to meet it(told you I was psycho).
In the midst of all this chaos, my youth group is coming over on Sat. ,after all the Halloween insanity, for a bonfire fellowship. I have to get this house cleaned from top to bottom, the back yard stripped of all the toys and cover the hole that the boys have been digging to China, not to mention find wood for the bonfire and something for everyone to sit on. Little bit crazy around here but like I said I somehow thrive under pressure. May forget to put on my bra on any given day but I will get this all done!
I have a ton of pics of the new tags and greeting cards that will go to Market with me as well as in my etsy and Lollishop, hopefully will get them added during this week.

I have been so nuts (my husband states that being nuts is not new to me) lately, volunteering at school, overseeing the drama team at church, teaching SS, working on goodies to sell at Mistletoe Market in Perry Ga., Lollishop items and that is on top of running a household and managing collections at the paint store! I am so blessed to have all of this going on and to be used by God in all of these situations, Thank You God!

I have also kept my mouth shut abt. this election mess, obviously God calls us to love everyone, but I am begging everyone out there to sincerely fall on your knees and pray out to God that his will is done and that this great country turns from wickedness and back to him. Being a born again Christian means that I have nothing to fear in the future, no matter what happens in this life I will be saved in the end, but we all sin and my fear(my sin) gets control over me at times and I do FEAR where this next month may lead us. I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and found a book by Max Lucado on this very subject, whether you are a Christian or not I highly recommend reading this, praying over it and letting God's choice of president win. Max Lucado points out that God allows all leaders(good or bad) their time in the spotlight, it might have been because the people thought they wanted him and God taught us a lesson thru that or that God was allowing bad things to happen so that we would rely on him and not ourselves, either way no one comes into a leadership role without God allowing it to happen. My prayer is a selfish one and that is that we turn back to him without anymore punishment and that the Leader we elect will be the one that is a Godly man and will follow God's ways and not his own. Even if you are in another country and reading this, please pray for the United States and the sinful mess we have in this country. No, I am not convinced that either man is Godly, in fact if I had to guess I would say neither are but I can see which is the lesser of 2 evils from what their actions in the past have been and by what they say today but even that can all be a disguise so I am asking God to show me what man he wants in this job.

Ok, soapboxes are not a new item that I am working on so I will shutup for now!

I am so EXCITED, it has just been one of those days(a badly needed one-at that)! Last night I spent hours taking pics, cropping, adjusting, replacing, adding and then measuring, typing, listing items on etsy and when I awoke I had a request for a journal from a gal in England-my first international customer!!!! Well that had me so giddy and then when I dropped my boys off at school I went to the park to walk the track and made it around 12 times without passing out or needing to potty, walked a total of 56 minutes, 6612 steps, burned 354 calories and for the big one......3 miles!! Now I know after watching some of the Olympics or even going to the gym and seeing the faithful(oh, how they gripe me!) that isn't much but for a big girl trying to shed an entire person that was GLORIOUS. You have to sing that word like the angels by the way. I rushed home to get ready to go into the paint store and harass delinquent painters abt. their bills only to sneak into my office and find an email from Sadie that my shop had been accepted as a seller on Lollishops, HOLY COW, I don't know if you can peel me off the ceiling today. Needless to say I haven't gotten ready for bill collecting yet and don't know if I can even concentrate on that right now. My husband says he may have to fire me before I even work a full week and as long as he brings me money I'll be singing, "Take this job and shove it, I ain't working here no more!" I can't even remember who sang that but it was the perfect line. Hope everyone else is having a wonderful day!!!!!!

Tomorrow my kids start back to school and I am so nervous for my 4 year old. Last year he went to our church preschool from 8:45-12:15, this year we were able to get him into the elementary school that my other 2 attend and so he will be there from 8:30-3:15(ack!). He is excited for now because he has his new "Diego" backpack and all his supplies ready but I know when I go to leave him there with people he does not know at a school he has never been to, that he is going to freak out. My other 2 sons were "mama's boys" for brief periods but this one is firmly attached to my side, he tells his daddy, "I'm not your boy", this is how attached he is! Needless to say, I will probably cry more than he does tomorrow and my reason for putting him at this school was so that I could go to work with my husband at the paint store(which probably won't happen )at least not right away.
I'm off for a day of movies, school open house and bowling, you know we are trying to cram everything in this last day of freedom. Congrats to Tammy and thanks for all of the comments out there over the past week, hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I haven't mentioned it before now but I have lost 43 lbs. in the last 4 months and am chasing down another 40(at least). My husband loves to mountain bike and while I would much rather go up a mountain on something with a motor, I realize that attitude has me where I am today. His bikes(yes more than one) are quite high dollar but when I suggested this Gary Fisher for me, he freaked($2500 freaking-still less than even one of his)! Needless to say I won't be getting that one but have decided on this Haro bike but mine will have pink cording, pink grips(handles)(I must speak the lingo now) and this great pink and white seat. TOO CUTE!!! I know that isn't the important part but if the thing sits more than moves I at least want it to be pretty, right? Future BMX Stars

This is the feeling I have had for weeks now. Can you see how hard my child was working just to make it up that hill? I now have the "Jeffersons" song running in my head!

On Sat. we went to East Macon Park where they use to have BMX races when my husband was a child(back in the old days as my oldest son put it). As you can see they all had a blast even if it was 100* in the shade(of which there was none). Now my husband has it in his head to call the recreation dept. and see what it would take to renovate the track and possibly start having races again. I tried to show everyone in these shots except me of course. I did get on my husband's bike and huffed over those little bumps but threatened him (with, well you know what matters most) if he took a pic of that.
Ooh for some exciting news, Sara over at Sadie Olive was interviewed for the Artful Blogging, that will come out on Friday, for her blog, shop and design business. My little ole' blog, that I so ignore in order to keep up with everyone else's, will be shown on page 40. Already I can see a difference in the views that I receive but will definitely be working on a few things in the next couple of days to update my shop and the blog itself. There are so many people I visit on a daily basis that I haven't posted links to and must get that area updated. BY THE WAY....I think I will have a giveaway to kick things off! Leave a comment here telling us some of the blogs and shops you visit daily and I will be giving a cigar box full of goodies away. I will post the pic of the giveaway this afternoon, I must go fill the box first. Obviously it will hold vintage sheet music, old wallpaper, antique lace and buttons, a few baubles and well you will have to return to see what else. I was so busy getting things ready for the Daylily festival that I didn't get around to posting more pics for the ISAWRED challenge or some of the crafts we were selling at our booth. On Friday we loaded our trucks and went to Gray, Ga. for the festival and had really thought it would be cool under the pecan trees, boy was I wrong. We had the hottest two days out there, I mean absolutely miserable. Usually we don't start seeing the 100's until July and even August but Friday was 101 and Sat. 100 degrees. No breeze blowing at all and sitting under a tent was horrific. I do not like to sweat and especially when I went to the trouble of fixing my hair and makeup but I literally poured sweat all weekend. It was nasty, running into my eyes down every crack and crevice imaginable, just nasty! When I was a teenager I couldn't wait to lay out in the sun all summer and never once thought it was too hot but now I am old and just can't take the heat. I did get to meet a lot of nice people though, one being Tammy, go visit and say hello. I also met another blogger but cannot find her card, once I do I will link to her so everyone can visit.

I hope everyone has a great week and I will post more pics soon of a journal/scrapbook I am working on.

I'm back, whadda ya know. I faithfully visit everyone out there and never get around to my blog but while visiting over the weekend I spied this challenge and decided I had to get in on this. Red is my absolute favorite color so I knew this would be a cinch! I didn't say professional so bear with the photography skills. I have been getting all of my "stuff" ready for the Daylily Festival in Gray, Ga. this weekend. Lots of journals, notecards, tags, altered scrapbook/journals, wallpaper packets and the coolest serving trays a friend of mine has made. Obviously whatever does not sell will be in my etsy shop on Mon. I would love to meet some of you so if you are near by come to the festival and introduce yourself.

gosh, I can't believe I haven't been here since the beginning of April. Pretty sad, I know, but it seems that everytime I really get motivated and inspired something happens to stop the ball. The latest was the tornado's that ripped thru on Mothers Day and I am just now getting over all of that. Our town still looks like a war zone but I think all is finally getting back to normal.

I have so much to say but of course no time to do it. I do want to recommend the book P.S. I love you, be Cecelia Ahern. I read it a while back and have just now seen the movie on Friday. As always the book is so much better so make sure you read it as well as see the movie! The best thing the movie has going for it is this man.....YUMMY!!!!!! I mean Scrump-Delish, yummy, yummy, yummy!!!!

Well, I don't know how many of you are subscribing to Teresa's Bellatoria or any of the past ezines but we just had the best swap. My partner was Kathi and our swap was"Queen Tea" as you can see by what all she sent to me. The crown is part of what I sent to her, my first attempt at making a crown and I think I made it a lot harder than it should have been. I love all of my goodies and have already had 2 cups of tea. It is hard here in the south to have hot tea and not iced sweet tea but I do try it every once in a while. Thank you so much Kathi!!!
I bought the sweetest book from Phyllis and just had to show you. If you don't already know she has a Flea market sale every Friday so make sure you check it out. I also got an order from Heather of wonderful old jewelry. I can't remember what they were named but I got two separate bunches, one with silvers and one with mauvey/purple colors. The pics do not do them justice.
The other pics I have posted are from Easter with my youngest and his cousin Luke. As you can tell they don't favor at all but then my brother is the tall skinny one in the family and somehow I came out short and dumpy. Go figure.
And last but not least my husband and I went to Chattanooga last weekend and on the interstate coming home this is what we looked in the rear window to see. Of course we had to let the van pass us so I could take another shot from behind. We laughed so hard for abt. 30 min. Somehow this guy made it off the interstate in Forsyth with no problems, he had to have the strongest cords holding that mattress on but he sure made our day.

We have had so much going on around here that I am way behind posting some pics of a Valentine Swap that I did. Cheryl sent me the greatest heart thingy? that I have ever seen. I think I have shown everyone I know and of course my husband just looks at me like I am nuts. I have worn the apron all over the place and my 3 year old thinks it is a skirt that I forgot to sew the back on. He goes around me looking at it like he just can't figure out what the problem is.

Somehow I forgot to upload the pics of the apron but will get them added in the next post.

Well I am off to stuff Easter eggs for the preschool hunt tomorrow but will be back soon with those etsy items and another swap box from Bellatoria.

New Look

I have been gone forever but Sara at Sadie Olive has worked her magic on my blog so now I am back. Thank you so much Sara, it is so perfect!!!
The pic in the banner is my Great,Great Grandfather's second wife, Mattie, who actually raised all of his kids which probably explains why she looks the way she does. Can you imagine marrying a man abt. 15 years older than you who has 12 kids already and then having 6 more? NO THANK YOU!! I love old pics of anyone's family but esp. my own but then I have shown you so many you probably already knew that.
Speaking of old things, we are in the midst of remodeling our kitchen and I am looking for an old kitchen sink. If anyone in Georgia knows of a salvage yard, please comment and let me know where. We visited Second Chance, an architectural salvage shop this morning but no luck on the sink. Of course it was like Heaven with all of the old doors, molding, thousands of mantels, doorknobs, cabinets, posts, railing. I am tellin ya it was Heaven, but my husband was right with me and he was feeling the presence of the Lord like I was.
Anyway, hopefully we can get back there and I can get pics for all of you. Time to go put kids in bed but will be back tomorrow with pics of some new Etsy items. Please go check out Sara and see if she can't whip up something for your blog!

I have been such a bad blogger these last few months, seems like we have so many deaths in our family at this time of year that FAMILY has been my number one priority. Family should be number one but if I don't get some time to myself I may just snap. So... I have made a resolution to blog more, meet more of you, craft more and perhaps a new adventure for me before Valentines if everything goes right. I will fill you in more as things progress.

My oldest two started bball this past Sat. and I wasn't on top of things as far as pics go, it's hard to watch, cheer, take pics and watch over a 3 year old all at once. It has been so long since I posted I have actually updated the pics since Halloween. The next couple of days will be updating my etsy shop so please check it out on Wednesday the 9th.

Can you believe I posted something Phyllis? LOL!! I have been "missing in action" but we have had 2 deaths in our family and between them and sickness, well blogging has been in the back seat.

I know, I know, where have I been? You guys can't imagine how crazy my life has been this past month! I have been reading everyone's blogs faithfully just not my own. I am the room parent for my 3 yr old's class and we have one thing after another planned and we haven't even got to the Christmas activities yet, UGH!!!!!

I am preparing for the Mistletoe Market in Perry Ga., which will be the 16, 17, 18th of Nov at the Ag Center for anyone in the area. I think they have 60 vendors this year and lots of variety for shopping. My Pampered Chef booth did well last year so I thought I would try to sell some of my crafting this year. I have knitted several wraps, made tons of journals and candles and I've gotten my self so worked up and nervous abt. how much money to put into this, I will have an ulcer when it's over. Everyone that stops by my booth and mentions this blog, gets 20% off your purchase.

The last time I posted I was working on my family reunion, Thank God that is over!!!!! It was great, we had abt. 75 people show which wasn't bad for the first ever Dover reunion. The majority of the family doesn't even know that the others exist so I thought all in all we did pretty good. I have more family shots I want to post but will have to do that later. I now have to go clean a costume that my child wore to school today for Fall Festival. Of course mine was the only one that spilled grape juice all over his lap.

I saw a post by Corey on family and thought since I have been working on these photos I would show them, who knows, maybe I have family out there I didn't know was visiting me.

I know it has been over a week since I posted and I haven't even visited y'all very much this week but I have been working on family issues. My dad is working in Illinois (he's an electrician) and has been there since June. He came home for a visit last weekend and bought an RV so I have been handling all of the paperwork and bills that come thru for him. I can hardly keep up with my own and now his too, UGH!!!

I am also in the process of planning the Dover Family Reunion that is to be held on Oct. 20th and this family is so spread out I am still hunting them down. I just found 3 in New Orleans area yesterday and there is only 1 month left before the reunion... Anyway, you can just imagine how frazzled I am working on it, 4 swaps that I joined like some kind of nutjob, and my everyday duties. I will have pictures in the next couple of days of the dresses I made for one swap, the sweet and sinister swap goodies and the Owl swap I am in. Needless to say I will not join 4 at one time again!!

I feel like I haven't been in here in forever and really don't have time for much yappin' now but I did want to show off a few things I have been working on. They are all the same pattern but the bottom pic is a different thread. So easy to do, just cast on 20 on size 13 and for the next 10 rows add one at the beg. and the end, knitting only. After the first 10 rows you only increase at the beg. of each row until the piece is abt. 12 inch deep. You then cut tassles from the remaining thread and attach all the way around the bottom as seen in pic 2. The first and second pic is Colinette and the last I am not sure abt. It has more of a ribbon feel to it than the silky feel of the other.

This is the one I made.

I have been really working my Pampered Chef business in the last week so I haven't had a lot of time to blog or craft, but I did want to show you what I made Jennifer in the Art Doll Hat Swap and the great hat I rec'd from her. My camera is possessed so I had to take the pics from her blog. I have never done anything like this and am not sure it came out so great but I am going to try a few more and see what happens. My biggest problem is figuring out how to make the cone. Everyones looked taller and more slender and I don't know what I did wrong but anyway I think she is ok for my first. The one Jennifer sent me is perfect on my side table in my bedroom and as soon as I can I will post pics.

I am so "wo" out(in the words of Nicole C. Mullen)! She was awesome, by the way. 16,000 women and a few men in the Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georgia, praising God and acting completely silly was so much fun. I wish I had pics to show but nada, didn't even take a camera. I was so excited to be leaving home, if only for 1 night, I ran right out the door without even thinking abt. it and was watching all these women take pics and thinking to myself, "You'd think these women never go anywhere". Never dawned on me that I should have taken mine to show everyone. Sorry, y'all. I can't make it anymore, I must have sleep. I promise to be back tomorrow with the lucky winner of the paper packet!Good Night.

I want to do the colors in her book as well but these pinks and greens were so pretty in the shop I had to try them. I have finished the knitting but still have to weave in the ends and tie the tassels on the bottom. As soon as I get that done I will post a pic of me wearing it. I have been a bad blogger lately due to VBS at church. It was a great week, 23 kids saved, but I am so glad it is over!! So happy in fact that I want to give a wallpaper packet away. Leave a comment on this post and I will draw at least one winner on Friday the 3rd. The packet contains 30 sheets of wallpaper( most of them 12x12), vintage poetry and hymns, 2 pages of clip art, old buttons, lace and crocheted flowers. Maybe a few extra surprises in there as well. My 3 boys go back to school on Mon of next week, YAY!! I love being an at home mom but this summer seemed to go on forever. I have been teaching myself knitting which is another reason I haven't been posting, once you get on a roll you don't want to stop. I will be posting pics of that project as well. Scrap Night

Tonight is Scrap Night at church from 6-11pm. Can't wait, this is my "away" time and I have so much to work on. Last month I got 2 pages made, it's kinda hard to complete a page when you are running around looking at every one's "stuff" and talking 90 to nothing! So tonight is SERIOUS BUSINESS, :). Well, I will try to get down to business, anyway. Packing to go is like going on vacation, I have a mess everywhere trying to figure out what I might use. All the girls made fun of me taking 4 trips to the car to haul it all in the last time so I may just make 5 tonight. A friend of mine that sells Stampin Up will be there to set up a booth so I will probably have pics to show you. I can't seem to resist new stamps, even tho' I have drawers full now that I haven't even mounted. It is really very sad, and my husband wants to kill me everytime he sees one.
On to other things, I have been working on an amigurumi bunny. This will be my first attempt at changing a pattern in crochet. I like to play it safe and go exactly by the book most days but the first bunny I did by this pattern turned out so small that I thought I would tweak it a bit. I would really love to know how to make the body and legs as one instead of attaching them at the end so if someone out there can tell me that I would love them forever!! I took pics this morning but can't get them to upload so I will be back later today to show you the bunnies. Maybe someone can tell me what to do to make them cuter!

I posted pics below of the 4 bookmarks I sent out to my swap partner, Betty and the host of the swap Phyllis. If you 2 haven't gotten these yet you may want to quit reading. I had so much fun making these and thought I would try to make some for my etsy shop. Within the week I will have different styles and different season bookmarks listed so make sure you check back. Of course the Patriotic ones will stay year round because well all of us in the states should be Patriotic all year round not just on Independence Day. I am so late getting these posted but I did want to share what Jessica sent me. We participated in the Partea Time Swap by Risa and Jessica was my partner, she was so prompt in getting my goodies to me. I, on the other hand, was a "deadbeat" and was late getting my gift to her in the mail. I do hope she enjoys hers as much as I have enjoyed mine. The picture is kind of dark but I think if you click on it, you can see a little better. Of course, you will also see that my kitchen was not completely painted at the time. We have new countertops coming in and as soon as all of that is done I will post new pics.

I just had to share with you what our dessert was last night. I have a friend that sells Tastefully Simple and she talked me into buying this. It was "YUMMY"!!!! We didn't even have ice cream to go with it and we still wanted to slap somebody. My nephew is here with us today- so I have 7 year old, 6 year old, 3 year old and 2 1/2 year old boys with me today and.. well do I have to explain more. They all had to potty off the front porch when Luke first got here, I guess it was marking the territory or something. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

We will be having the chicken salad like this because the boys would freak out if they saw it like the pic on top. Either way this is so good!!!!

I have been working on my bookmark swap today but now have to start on supper. I thought I would share with everyone exactly what we will be having tonight. Of course both recipes come from Pampered Chef so I have taken their pics for you to see. The main dish is

The Pampered Chef ®Jerk Chicken SaladRecipe
1 tablespoon Garlic Oil or olive oil
1 tablespoon Jamaican Jerk Rub
1 pound chicken tenders
1 medium pineapple
1 red bell pepper
3 green onions (white and light green parts only)
2 heads romaine lettuce
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained
6 slices bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
Dressing
2 limes
1/3 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons pineapple preserves
In Classic Batter Bowl, whisk together oil and jerk rub with Stainless Whisk. Add chicken tenders; mix well to coat and set aside. Peel pineapple and cut in half lengthwise with Santoku Knife; reserve half for another use. Cut remaining pineapple in half lengthwise and remove core. Slice crosswise into ¼-inch slices. Heat Grill Pan over medium heat 5 minutes. Add chicken; cook 3-5 minutes on each side, turning once. Remove from pan. Add pineapple to pan. Cook 1 minute on each side, turning once; remove from pan. Cut chicken into bite-size pieces using Utility Knife; set chicken and pineapple aside.
Thinly slice bell pepper and green onions on Cutting Board with Measure Cups using Santoku Knife. Arrange 12 large lettuce leaves around Simple Additions® Large Round Platter. Chop remaining lettuce; set vegetables aside. Drain and rinse beans using Strainer; set aside.
For dressing, zest one lime using Microplane® Adjustable Grater. Juice both limes into Small Batter Bowl using Citrus Press. Add lime zest, mayonnaise and pineapple preserves to batter bowl; mix well.
Layer chopped lettuce, beans, bell pepper, chicken, pineapple, bacon and green onions over each lettuce leaf. Drizzle dressing over salad.
Yield: 6 servings
Nutrients per serving: Calories 320, Total Fat 16 g, Saturated Fat 4 g, Cholesterol 60 mg, Carbohydrate 24 g, Protein 24 g, Sodium 580 mg, Fiber 5 g
Cook's Tip: If desired, 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into strips, can be substituted for the chicken tenders. To microwave bacon, line Medium Bar Pan with sheet of Parchment Paper. Arrange bacon slices in a single layer on bar pan; cover with another sheet of Parchment Paper. Microwave on HIGH 4-6 minutes, checking after each 30-second interval and turning once with Bamboo Tongs. Remove bacon to paper towel-lined plate to drain. For a kid-friendly version of this recipe, prepare recipe as directed, omitting lettuce. Cook 1 pound rotini pasta according to package directions. Drain pasta and toss with 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Add remaining ingredients; drizzle with dressing and toss gently.

The second recipe is this:

The Pampered Chef ®Lime-Berry Mousse TrifleRecipe
4-5 limes
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 container (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
3 cups assorted fresh berries, such as strawberries, raspberries and blackberries
1 frozen prepared pound cake (16 ounces), thawed
1 pint lime sherbet, softened
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Additional berries for garnish (optional)
Slice two limes using Ultimate Mandoline fitted with v-shaped blade; set aside. Using Microplane® Adjustable Grater, zest remaining limes to measure about 1 tablespoon zest; juice limes into Easy Read Measuring Cup using Citrus Press to measure 1/2 cup juice.
In Classic Batter Bowl, whisk cream cheese, condensed milk, lime juice and zest with Stainless Whisk. Attach open star tip to Easy Accent® Decorator, fill with about 1/2 cup of the whipped topping and set aside. Gently fold in remaining whipped topping until smooth with Small Mix ‘N Scraper®. Slice strawberries with Egg Slicer Plus®. Place berries in Small Batter Bowl.
Cut pound cake into 1-inch cubes with Bread Knife. To assemble trifle, place half of the pound cake cubes into bottom of Trifle Bowl. Top with half of the sherbet using Small Scoop; spread evenly. Top sherbet with half of the berries and half of the cream cheese mixture. Arrange lime slices in a circular pattern against inside of bowl to garnish. Repeat layers one time with remaining pound cake cubes, sherbet, berries and cream cheese mixture.
Pipe whipped topping rosettes around rim of trifle using decorator. Coarsely chop almonds using Food Chopper; sprinkle over top of trifle before serving. Garnish with additional berries, if desired.

Nutrients per serving: Calories 310, Total Fat 17 g, Saturated Fat 10 g, Cholesterol 60 mg, Carbohydrate 35 g, Protein 4 g, Sodium 120 mg, Fiber 1 g
Cook's Tip: To toast almonds in (8-in.) Sauté Pan, cook and stir 7-10 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently with Small Slotted Turner until toasted. Remove from heat; cool.Any flavor of sherbet can be used in this recipe, if desired. Coat additional lime slices with sugar for a pretty garnish.

Swaps and Such

I rec'd my Travel Swap gift this weekend and wanted to show you what Carole made for me. Some of her pics are below this post and the ones above are some of the pages from the book I made for her. She is taking a trip to Italy this year so I hope that she can use this to document her trip. I told her that I was working for a trip with Pampered Chef(trip for 4 to D.C. or trip for 2 to London) and she made the perfect book to add all of my pics and notes to. I love it!!! Thanks so much Carole!!!! I have also included a pic of a visitor that we had yesterday. Don't know that you can see it very well but the snake was climbing the front porch post to get to a birds nest in the corner. You can see part of his body(he was abt. 4 ft. long) and he did manage to get a couple of birds before I got him down. Needless to say my 3 boys were freaking and screaming abt. how COOL it all was. YUCK!!!! I was inside taking this pic thru a rained on window so that is why it looks so bad. It was too hard to hold the camera, rake and an ax to get a good pic for you, but I am sure everyone understands.

Earlier today I visited this blog and saw her slide show. I thought it was cool so I attempted to make my own but now can't figure out how to fix it. I want it moved over to the side but my brain is just not working that way today. A lot of the pics that you see are on my blog already but I did add one of my mom. This was taken in 2005 at her 40th class reunion in Jacksonville, North Carolina. My dad was working in Illinois at the time so my Uncle was her date and I think it was the best time she had ever had. "God works in Mysterious Ways." My mom had a very low self esteem and always felt that she was not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, outgoing enough..... and she was so nervous abt. this reunion. My Uncle Marshall(her sister's husband) is a complete "Ham" in public(well, anywhere) and I really believe God worked it so that he would be the one to take her to the only reunion she had been to. She talked abt. every moment that happened for days after she got home. When I was a baby she had to have her knee caps removed due to the bones rubbing against each other(yes, I am so old that they didn't have knee replacement surgery). After her reunion she decided that she would try to have the surgery so that she could walk steadier and not feel so limited in what she could do. She had the surgery in mid Oct. 2005 and was the best rehab pt. they had ever had, she was so proud of herself and so upbeat. One week after the surgery she started bleeding(diverticulitis) and on Nov. 28th 2005 she passed away from all of the complications with it. I miss her every single day and I know that this post is a little bit of a downer but I want to say that no matter how people get on your nerves or drive you crazy, make sure you let them know that you love them every single day!! I also wanted everyone to see how God works, I really believe he gave her that reunion time as a special moment for her and best of all my younger brother accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in August of 2006. It is something she prayed for everyday and thru her death his heart opened. I know my mom has at least one extra crown in Heaven today and that is what I wanted to share with you. You never know how your actions will affect someone else, so please tell everyone that Jesus loves them and that you do as well. They may have just needed that and you may be the only person that tells them.

I have finally gotten the collage added to my etsy shop and I have added one of the new journals there as well. There are several more to take pics of and add that I will try to get to tonight. I have a booth at our local market on Sat. and everything will be going with me so if you are interested in a certain item please let me know.

On to something else to gab abt., my 3 year old loves to surprise us with the things that come from his mouth. His new kick is singing to a commercial that we heard on the radio. The commercial sounds like Larry the Cable Guy being asked if he was to try out on American Idol what would he sing. His response, "Lord have mercy how'd she get them britches on, with all that honky tonk....." and so now you know. He also watched part of Shrek in the last few weeks so we have, "I like big butts...." to go with the first stanza and somehow he knows that honky tonk and butt is the same. Go figure, I can't make him understand "NO" to save my life but he hears those lyrics ONCE and immediately gets them. Will I ever figure this parenting thing out?!? Any experts out there?

I have been busy, busy, busy with getting ready for the Sat. Market here but wanted to show you some of what I have been doing. My Pampered Chef business has kept me busy as well so I know I have been lax in posting but I promise it is nuts here!

Crocheting flowers is a never ending endeavor but I did manage to use an old 9x16 clipboard to collage. I will be adding it to etsy when I can get a better pic of it.

I also need to post pics of my Tea Swap and my Travel Swap goodies so I better get back to taking pics and getting the boys off to the movies. They are leaving with their Granny to see Shrek the Third and I don't know who is more excited, me or them!!!!

well, you know the rest. I haven't posted for ages but all three boys are out of school and let's just say there is no "me" time. I have been working on a few items to put on etsy so hopefully tonight I can get them loaded. I picked up my crochet and have been making a mad dash to finish flowers to list and now my left arm feels as tho' I should wack it off.

I have faithfully been reading everyone's posts and working on my swaps so if you are waiting for something please know that I am going as fast as I can!

Saturday was my youngest son's 3rd birthday. It seems like yesterday that we went out to eat Mexican(lots of cheese dip) and I promptly went into labor. Just ponder on that a moment and you will understand how horrified I was. As soon as we got to the hospital I informed the nurse that I had just eaten Mexican, to which she replied, "It will be ok, you won't be the first and you won't be the last." My problem was I didn't want to be the in-between either. My contractions were slow and lasted all thru the night, meanwhile they never let me get out of bed.UGH! The new Dr. on call came in during the early morning hours and of course this had to be the only Dr. in the practice that I had not seen on rotation. Not only that but he is my age!!!! I can deal with the older ones but my age? YUCK!!! I am very modest and this was just adding to the humiliation that I expected to go thru during the delivery, if you know what I mean. He checked my progress and told me that it would still be at least 4 hours and that he had another pt. ready across the river at the other hospital in town, he would go deliver her baby and be back in time for mine. He literally stepped out into the hall, maybe 2-3 min. passed and I had to push. My husband, of course thought I was crazy and it was just the Mexican food talking. But oh no, I mean I had to push!! My husband ran out into the hall, the Dr. still standing outside my door making notes and tells everyone what is going on. It seemed like forever before nurses, my husband and the Dr. come back in( I did tell you I was horrified, right?). In walks the Dr. with this contraption on his head, full length plexi-glass face shield that went to mid chest. I COULD HAVE DIED!!!!!! I mean I had been beggin' for an enema but they don't do that anymore they said, it will be fine, they said. I wish that we had remembered the camera because this story does not do this justice. Needless to say, I only had to push once, an 8 lb 11 oz baby boy flew out and I never asked abt. anything else. TOO HORRIFIED!!!

Well here it is 3 years later, Brady's 3rd birthday and we were going to Kangaroo Bob's but he insisted on Chucky E. Cheese. Did I tell you, he loves Mexican and you need to read a few posts back abt. what he said with the glasses on. Here are some pics of the 3 boys as well as my nephew. I hope you enjoyed the story above and make sure you never eat Mexican before delivery!!!

Selling on Etsy

I know this is going to sound pretty goofy but I am so excited, I sold 2 wallpaper packets this week! YAY!!! I am not the most patient person and everyday I would check my etsy shop to see if anything had sold. I could tell someone was eyeballing it but not purchasing. Well now I am officially in business. Thanks to Alice and Maria and if y'all are reading this, your packets were sent today-2 day shipping. I hope that you enjoy them and keep looking as I enter new things in the shop! I recently bought 6 French books from 1935 and pages from them will be in the packets as well. I don't have a clue what they say so please forgive me if there is anything offensive.

I took some pics in the yard today(it is already 90 degrees here in Ga.), thought I better before everything burns up in this heat.

My youngest, Brady, will be 3 years old tomorrow. It is so hard to believe that time has gone by so quickly. His pic is at the top and please ignore the background, I have been repainting our kitchen for weeks now, green then blue and now red, pretty soon it will look like McDonalds! We have a big time planned at Kangaroo Bob's so if I don't get back this weekend, I hope everyone has a great one!
